GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- In Grand Traverse County, Chateau Chantal celebrated a very unique wine made here in northern Michigan.
Hundreds of wine lovers made their way to the winery on Old Mission Peninsula for the 3rd annual Ice Wine Festival.
In addition to tasting the signature Ice Wine, people were also able to tour the vineyard and wine cellar.
Out on the deck, many warmed up by the fire and enjoyed the view from inside temporary igloos.
"It's something that we like to do in order to promote and celebrate northern Michigan in the winter,” Chateau Chantal Marketing Director Kyle Brownley. “We're always talking about the summer, whereas in the winter, it's something we like to bring to people's attention too. We really want to celebrate the winter, celebrate the bounty of that which in this case is ice wine that we kind of think gets overlooked a lot of times out here."
Brownley hopes the newest batch of Ice Wine will be for sale at Chateau Chantal by March.
