School placed on lockdown, student suspended after gun threat
CHIPPEWA COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- An Upper Peninsula student is suspended after investigators say he made a threat towards the school.
The threat happened Friday at Sault Ste. Marie High School.
According to the school's superintendent, the threat was reported by a student who overheard a comment made by another student in class.
Investigators say the school was on lockdown for about 10-15 minutes while the student was interviewed and the school was searched.
Reports show that no weapon was found and students were able to leave at the end of the day.
The investigation is ongoing.
