Ski resorts begin seasonal hiring

BENZIE COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- Winter is almost here and ski resorts are looking to hire for the upcoming winter season.

Crystal Mountain is looking to hire up to 120 people for the ski season.

There are a variety of open positions at the resort, including ski instructors, lift operators, tickets and rentals, servers and housekeepers.

Many of the jobs are part time, but a director at the resort says some of them could turn into full time.

The pay begins at minimum wage, but the jobs include employee perks like free ski passes for the entire family.

“It's a fun atmosphere to be in,” said Brian Lawson, director of public relations at Crystal Mountain. “We are in the business of showing people a good time. If you like people and you like being outdoors during the wintertime there's a lot of great opportunities to work here.”

Crystal Mountain is holding its job fair at the resort on November 8th from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Caberfae Peaks is holding a job fair on November 29th from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. The resort is looking to hire up to 75 people this season.

Nub's Nob is also looking to hire close to 30 people this season.
