State shuts down assisted living facility, 30 patients forced to find new home
MACKINAC COUNTY, Mich. (WPBN/WGTU) -- Nearly three dozen patients of an assisted living facility were struggling to find a new place to get medical care Monday.
The Dept. of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) shut down Cedar Ridge Assisted Living in St. Ignace due to health code violations.
A spokesperson with LARA said the violations were noted during two investigations which took place January 22 and March 7.
An employee at Cedar Ridge Assisted Living said social workers were on-site Monday helping to find other facilities for the 30 residents.
There are also 20 employees at Cedar Ridge Assisted Living impacted by the closure.
