Tahquamenon Falls trail temporarily closed due to spring runoff

LUCE COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- High water from spring runoff has caused a popular Upper Peninsula state park trail to be temporarily closed.

Park staff at Tahquamenon Falls State Park have closed the the River Trail between the Upper and Lower Tahquamenon Falls.

According to park staff, the spring flows have not subsided and there are several sections of trail which are underwater and have become quite hazardous.

The trail will be re-opened once the water level drops and the trail can be assessed for safety hazards.
