Teen hits mailbox, building in Traverse City

A 17-year-old was drifting when he lost control of his vehicle around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.

GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- A northern Michigan teen is charged with reckless driving after causing damage to city property.

It happened around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of State Street and Union Street.

According to Traverse City Police Chief Jeffrey O' Brien a 17-year-old was drifting his car when he lost control.

The driver is alleged to have hit a light pole, parking sign, mailbox and a building.

Chief O' Brien says no one was injured in the crash.
