The new Interlochen Public Library opens its doors tonight
GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- The wait is finally over! The Interlochen Public Library will open its doors to the community Wednesday night for its grand opening.
The library invites people to come in from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. to tour the new space and enjoy some holiday treats in celebration.
After years of waiting, the community can now enjoy a brand new library that features amenities like a kids room, study cubbies, a full kitchen and even a cozy fireplace.
There were many people that made the new library possible, including countless volunteers and hundreds of donors.
Mary Beth Hardwicke, the library's co-chair for its new building campaign, touted the amazing work of the community.
She says, "When people learned we were going to build a new building, everyone wanted to pitch in. I've never seen such incredible community involvement. We have 750 people who donated to make this building happen."
Besides the grand opening, the Interlochen Public Library has many exciting upcoming events that can be found on their website, here.
