Substation issue causes power outage in Frankfort

BENZIE COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- An entire northern Michigan city is experiencing a power outage.

According to the Consumers Energy website, thousands of people in the Frankfort-Elberta area are effected.

The Benzie County Office of Emergency Management said power in Arcadia and Pleasanton Township has been restored.

Officials said the outage is because of a problem with a substation.

The estimated restoration time from Consumers is 1:30 p.m.
