Tom's Food Market donates to TART Trail Boardman Lake Loop Project

Tom's Food Market donated $50,000 to the TART Trails Boardman Lake Loop Project.

GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- The TART Trails is one step closer to completing the non-motorized trail around Boardman Lake thanks to a generous donation.

Recently, Tom's Food Markets donated $50,000 to the project.

“Tom’s Food Markets is proud to take part in the development of this very valuable community asset that will be enjoyed by Traverse City area residents, as well as many tourists, for years to come!,” stated Tom’s Food Markets President, Christy Kuhnke.

Once complete, the 5.5 mile loop trail will serve as a major recreational resource and central commuting corridor.

TART Trails' executive director, Julie Clark, said the generous gift from Tom's is an investment in making our area a healthier, more active, more connected and vibrant place to live and visit.

The public campaign to complete the loop launched in late June and is still open for anyone who wishes to be a part of this project.

You can find more information on the project and ways to support it on their website.
