LEELANAU COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- Two men sustained non-life-threatening injuries when both their vehicles were heavily damaged in a crash.

Just before 10 a.m. Monday Leelanau County Sheriff's Deputies and Glen Lake Fire and Rescue were called to the crash at the intersection of M-72 and South Plowman Road in Empire Township.

Investigators say a 53-year-old Traverse City man was driving a Chevrolet pick-up southbound on Plowman Road when he didn't see the stop sign.

The driver went into the intersection and was hit by a Charter Communications truck driven by a 50-year-old Interlochen man, according to deputies.

The pickup truck rolled and ended up in the southwest corner of the intersection, deputies said.

Both drivers were taken to Munson Medical Center Traverse City for non-life-threatening injuries.

The pickup truck driver was ticketed for failure to yield at a sign intersection.
