Van carrying high school students overturns on highway

Authorities say the van lost control going up a hill.

MANISTEE COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- A van carrying a Manistee High school sports team overturned on the highway Friday evening.

It happened around 5:15 p.m. on M-55 just east of the Cooley Bridge.

Authorities say a chaperone was driving a van with seven students inside. They were headed to Gaylord, when they lost control going up a hill.

We're told everyone was taken to the hospital. No serious injuries were reported.

Norman Township Fire Rescue and North Flight EMS were called to the scene.
