Wind tonight, snow Wednesday
There is a WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY from Cheboygan to Ludington Wednesday. Included are Cheboygan, Emmet, Charlevoix, Antrim, Kalkaska, Grand Traverse, Leelanau, Wexford, Benzie, Manistee, and Mason Counties. Lake effect snow will return Wednesday. Snow totals in these counties will be 2 to 5 inches for most of the area...but since this is a lake effect pattern of snowfall, some people could see up to 10 inches. Wednesday...snow showers outside the advisory area...will be up to 2 inches. We all will be cold. Highs will be 12 to 22 degrees. Wind from the northwest will be 10-20 mph, but gust to 25 mph near Lake Michigan.
Wednesday night...snow showers will continue west of I-75. Lows will be extreme. From 18 below zero to 8 degrees above zero. Wind will gust to 20 mph from the northwest.
Thursday...snow showers. Light snow for most of northern Michigan, but from Petoskey to Ludington some towns will see more lake effect snow which means several inches of additional snow...as much as 5 more inches for some communities. Highs from 6 below to 15 above. Wind from the north 5-15 mph.
Thursday night...lows from 22 below to around 0.
Friday...possibly the coldest day yet. Highs from 10 below zero to 12 above. Snow showers around the Lower Peninsula.
Friday night lows from 25 below to 2 below. Few overnight lows will be above zero around northern Michigan.
Saturday...snow showers in the Lower. Highs 4 to 16 degrees. Some sun in the U.P...snow showers in the Lower.
Sunday...snow showers could fall anywhere. Highs climb a bit. Highs will jump into the 20s!
