WINTER STORM WARNING for all of northern Michigan thru Wednesday AM.

Heavy snow will spread across our part of the state from south to north thru the day. This afternoon you could see some freezing rain mixed with the snow...if this happens in your neighborhood beware that this will increase the iciness of the roads. Wind is increasing. Gusts today from the east will be over 30 mph. Two-day snow totals from this storm could be over 10 inches in many towns. So, blowing snow and low visibility will be problems...especially in open rural areas. High temperatures today will range from 15 to 30 degrees.

Tonight...more snow and wind...the storm is still with us. Drifting snow...some of it new snow...some of it old snow...will cause slow travel overnight. Lows 12 to 22, wind chills will be close to zero as the wind gusts over 25 mph. The wind direction will will turn to the northwest thru the night.

Wednesday expect slow traffic in the AM. The wind will gust over 30 mph from the northwest. Drifts are expected. The new snow that falls thru the day will be lighter...maybe 2 or 3 inches. Highs 18 to 26 degrees.

Thursday look for a mostly cloudy sky with scattered light snow. Wind will come from the south 5-15 mph. Highs 25 to 38 degrees...some a little melting is expected in the southern half of the Lower where temperatures will rise above freezing.

Friday...mostly cloudy...scattered snow...wind 10-20 mph from the northwest. Highs 20-25 degrees.

Saturday will be partly sunny. Just a flurry, if you see any snow. Highs 15-25 degrees.

Sunday...lots of clouds. Good chance for snow showers in the Lower. Highs 15-25 degrees..
