World War II era B-17 makes stop in Manistee County

MANISTEE COUNTY, Mich. (WPBN/WGTU)-- This weekend you have the chance to go back in time while touring a piece of World War II history.

The Yankee Lady B-17 Plane landed at the Manistee County Blacker Airport on Friday.

The B-17 heavy bomber has four engines and was used to fight in World War II.

Now, you can climb aboard for a full flight experience.

The Yankee Lady is an award winning, fully restored, living museum honoring aviation history.

"This is our B-17, the queen of our fleet and it was a mainstay in the European theater for heavy bombers and a lot of people claim, well it did help win the war," said John Rule with the Yankee Air Museum.

You have the option of styaing ont he ground for a self-guided tour inside the plane, or the Yankee Lady crew offers 25 minute airbourne tours in the air.
