Snowbirds talk success in girls hoops, quarterfinal hurdle up ahead

GAYLORD -- One of the most consistent girls basketball programs in all of northern Michigan the past several years is no doubt Gaylord St. Mary.

The fifth-ranked Snowbirds added another regional title to their resume on Wednesday night, the third in the last four seasons. Add to that the fact that they haven't lost a single game in the Ski Valley Conference since February of 2016 shows St. Mary is doing something right in this sport.

The only hurdle left to get around would be the quarterfinal round which has ended their season after each of those recent regional titles.
