St. Francis advances past Glen Lake, Frankfort hands GSM first loss in football postseson

Frankfort scored early and often as the Panthers pulled off the road win over Gaylord St. Mary on Saturday 53-30.

Football playoffs picked up back up on Saturday afternoon for many area schools.

Traverse City St. Francis started off the second round with its second win over Glen Lake this season. This time around the Glads topped the Lakers 13-0 at Thirlby Field in a Division 6 district final. Next up for the Glads will be a road trip at Millington.

Over in Division 8, Frankfort jumped out to an impressive lead in an eventual victory over previously unbeaten Gaylord St. Mary on the road 53-30. Frankfort will be back on the road for the regional next week up at Iron River West Iron County.

Other football scores from Saturday included Lake City's 25-16 win over Ishpeming Westwood in Division 7. Trojans will host Breckenridge next week. In the 8-Player Division 2 bracket, Pickford topped Onekama 26-14. The Panthers will be a 8-Player state semifinal next week against Crystal Falls Forest Park.
