Wooer leaving TC West to fill head coaching position at Kingsley

The former Titan head coach revealed the news to his players and coaches Wednesday morning.

TRAVERSE CITY -- After spending ten seasons as head coach at West Senior High, Tim Wooer is now heading back to his alma mater Kingsley for a second stint.

He revealed the news to his coaches and players early Wednesday morning, citing a desire to be closer to home and help rebuild the Kingsley program.

The Titans are coming off his best record with the team at 9-2, a Big North Conference championship and their first playoff victory since 2004. He was 56-42 overall with the biggest program in northern Michigan.

After graduating from Kingsley, Wooer coached the Stags from 1999-2007, a run in which they won a state championship in 2005.

Their head coaching position had been open since the middle of last season when head coach Jason Leonard was removed after an embezzlement investigation. The Stags finished the season 1-8 and have now missed the playoffs each of the last four seasons.
