Nicole Long is an Arizona native and after she found her passion for journalism in high school, she graduated from the Arizona State University Walter Cronkite School in 3 1/2 years with a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communications.
During her time at school, she had an internship through the city of Phoenix and was a part of a professional program with her school and their partners at AZPBS. As a broadcast reporter, she covered topics like politics, health, breaking news and borderlands, with her favorite topic being human interest and local stories.
After living in the city, Nicole has grown a habit of seeking out local shops to explore and try every cup of coffee available to try to find the best one in town. She’s excited to join a close-knit community and get the chance to tell their stories.
Like her grandfather, Nicole is getting her start in Traverse City, reporting in the same studio that produced the Bronco Billy Show. Although it only ran for two years in the early 1960s, she is grateful to be in the same space her family once knew.
